There is much to discover in Lanzarote

A name you should know! This artist, born on Lanzarote, has had a decisive influence on the appearance of the island.

His works include the following sights.
(You will find a detailed description of all the activities in a folder in the holiday home)

Montañas del Fuego, explore the fire mountains of Lanzarote. The ‘El Diablo’ restaurant integrated into the visitor centre was designed by César. Here you can barbecue with the natural heat of the volcano.

Monumento al Campesino, monument with adjoining museum. Traditional handicrafts from the island are on display here. There is the opportunity to take part in workshops.

Fundación César Manrique, former home of César Manrique, integrated into 5 lava bubbles.

Jardín de Cactus, botanical cactus garden integrated into a former quarry.

LagOmar Museum, unusual house built into an old quarry.

Jameos del Aqua, artfully illuminated lava grotto with natural lake.

Cueva de los Verdes, guided tour through a 3000-year-old lava cave.

House in the palm garden, the last home and studio of César Manrique in Haria.

Mirador del Rio, marvellous view of the Famara massif.

In addition to the works of César Manrique, there is much more to discover

Volcan El Cuervo, interesting hike around and into the volcano.

La Geria, the wine-growing region, attracts visitors with its many bodegas where they can sample delicious tapas as well as the marvellous wine.

Caleta de Famara, a hotspot for surfers. A small village with a natural beach.

Papagayo beaches, the most beautiful beaches on the island, right on our doorstep.

El Golfo and Lago Verde, original little fishing village. The highlight is a green seawater lagoon on the beach.

Los Hervideros, caves and tunnels formed by volcanic eruptions in 1824 through which every wave creates a unique natural spectacle.

The town of Teguise, with its historic centre, is very tranquil. It only really comes to life on Sunday, market day.

Antigua Rofera, eroding rock formations with tunnels and caves.

The village of Yaiza, whitewashed houses, green shutters and palm-lined streets.

Aeroplanes – so close, fun for young and old. Stand right in the flight path while the aeroplanes thunder overhead!

Montaña Roja, hike on the local mountain of Playa Blanca.

‘Faro de Punta Pechiguera’, Playa Blanca’s lighthouse.

Capital Arrecife

Charco de San Ginés, the natural lagoon in the heart of the city. Surrounded by white fishermen’s houses, enjoy a glass of wine with a good meal or stroll along the palm-fringed promenade.

Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa, the best view over the city. Blue 17, the hotel’s rooftop bar, is open to everyone.

Islote de Fermina, leisure centre brought back to life in 2023, with café and fantastic views of the bay.

The capital, long underestimated even by us, has much more to offer than it appears at first glance. Set off and explore the city, which has a few surprises in store.

Day trip to Fuerteventura

From the harbour in Playa Blanca, ferries depart several times a day to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. The journey only takes around 45 minutes and ends at the harbour in Corralejo. Here you can quickly reach the Corralejo Natural Park nature reserve, which is home to large sand dunes. You can either organise a day trip yourself or join an organised tour. If you want to travel on your own, you can buy a ticket for the crossing at the harbour in Playa Blanca. But beware, the hire car may only leave the island with the permission of the hire company!
