Pescadería la Cofradía

The Pescadería of the fishing co-operative, in the ferry harbour of Playa Blanca, offers a perfect and inexpensive opportunity to buy delicious local fish. If you don’t know much about fish, you can ask any question at the pescadería and get the best advice. Don’t feel like cooking? The adjoining restaurant brings the freshly caught fish straight to your table. Meat lovers are also welcome.

Queseria Rubicón

In the village of Femés there is a small shop that sells its own goat’s cheese, mojos, jams, country eggs and vegetables fresh from the farmer. Goat’s cheese from mountain goats is a speciality on Lanzarote and can be bought here in many variations: Fresh goat’s cheese, fresh cheese with oregano in oil, goat’s cheese wrapped in gofano, with paprika, smoked goat’s cheese (smoked with Tunera cactus leaves)

Salinas de Janubio

The old salt pans in the south of the island near Playa Blanca were created in 1895. Today, a large part of these historic salt pans have been abandoned and salt is only currently being processed in some areas – subsidised with EU funds to preserve the historic site. There is a small shop selling numerous salty products and the freshly extracted sea salt.
